Iain Vitty Architecture is an architectural practice based in southern Spain, and concentrating in Sotogrande, La Costa del Sol and Gibraltar. The principle, Iain Vitty approached Miura and asked us to take a strategic look at how we would design the branding for his new practice which, as well as specialising in high density residential projects, is aimed at high net worth individuals in southern Spain.
Iain Vitty is an architect with vision and keen eye for attention to detail, so when we got the job we knew we would have to make sure everything would be just right.
The audience the practice is trying to attract is extremely wide. We needed to appeal to both the high net worth individuals and the development and regeneration companies in the area. So, we followed our tried and tested process which involved an extensive period of consultation with powerpoint presentations of a variety of options, colours, mood boards and strategic thinking.
Through our discussions and research it became evident that we needed to develop a branding design in which the logotype and symbol were firmly rooted in graphic elements of the everyday practices of an architect. This led us to create a symbol that represents a corner stone paired with a classic typeface with modern undertones.
Across all print and website design (full website in development) we used patterns and effects ingrained in simplicity and architectural drawing elements. The result was an elegant and controlled graphic design solution which embodies the practice’s core beliefs.
