photofoundation internship – calling all social media and photography whizzes!

photofoundation are looking for an enthusiastic and entrepreneurial intern to support social media, online marketing and day to day operations. This is an exciting opportunity to join a young, dynamic social venture and have a real impact on its development.

The Opportunity
photofoundation’s aim is to develop a vibrant community of users who are passionate about sharing and buying great images for social good. In mid February we will be launching a new website accompanied by a social media campaign to recruit users from two key audiences:

1) people who take great images (amateurs, students, semi-professional and professional photographers)
2) charities, other third sector organisations and commercial image buyers who need high quality images for their work

To support this work, we are looking for an intern to support social media and marketing activities as well as the day to day running of photofoundation.

Main areas of work include :
– using social media to raise awareness, research and contact potential image contributors
– managing incoming image donations and providing feedback as required
– writing compelling content to engage potential/existing photofoundation users
– supporting the project manager in day to day operations

Requirements
If you’re interested in pursuing a career in photography, social media and social ventures, this could be a great opportunity for you to gain hands-on experience in helping to build a new business. There is the potential for this position to become a full time post.

We’re looking for the following:
– A passion for photography! You will know how to take great photos and how to judge the quality of other’s work. You will be aware of existing online communities and networks in this area.
– Experience in using a range of social media channels and platforms to engage with a range of audience; experience in managing and monitoring online activity to assess performance would also be valuable.
– Interest in working for a social venture and commitment to the aims of photofoundation.
– Entrepreneurial, a can-do attitude and great communication skills. You will be a natural networker and connector and you must be happy contacting people speculatively.
– Good editorial skills with experience in writing engaging copy for websites, blogs and social media.
– Good problem solving skills and attention to detail. You will be self motivated, practical and comfortable in a shifting start up environment.
– Design, software and tech skills would be a bonus.

Duration: Full time for 2-4 months with a one week trial period. We’re looking for someone to start as soon as possible. Weekly stipend of £150 a week.
