Miura is currently assisting Robert Peston and Education and Employers Taskforce in the branding and design of a new charity, Speakers for Schools. This charity will be an online speaker bureau whose aim will be to increase the flow of inspirational speakers into disadvantaged schools.

Speakers for Schools will launch 18-22 October.


Alcatel-Lucent is leader in fixed, mobile and converged broadband networking, IP technologies, applications and services.

Miura was approached by The Conversation Group to design an exhibition stand for Alcatel-Lucent for the Mobile World Congress 2010, in Barcelona. We would be responsible for the design of the exhibition stand along with the content for the stand which would aim to highlight the importance of good design in mobile app development. Miura is looking for a User Interface Developer. The right candidate will be working with like minded professionals on some fantastic accounts, as well as assisting in the development of new emerging innovative cutting edge technology for the Miura_Labs. You will be working closely with designers, information architects and technology specialists delivering the very best to our clients. Candidates applying should have a background in Computer Science and technical expertise in the following:

– Excellent knowledge of programming languages: PHP, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, ASP.Net, C#, Flash ActionScript (ideal but not essential)

• Database systems MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL

• Operating Systems: Windows 98/2k/NT/XP, Linux

• Programs & Tools: Apache, Macromedia FLASH, ActionScript/ActionScript3.0, Adobe Photoshop (ideal but not essential), etc

• Capable of configuring: IIS, Apache, proxy server, DHCP server, MAIL server (pop3/smtp)

• Strong attention to detail

• Eager to learn new things

• Ability to work unsupervised and prioritise

You should have an understanding and experience in framework development such as Drupal, Joomla, Zend, Codeigniter etc

You should be dynamic, ambitious and wanting to learn more about mobile platforms and social media, we see this role as being ideal for someone with a love of all things development and wanting to be on the crest of the latest thing.
